The same problem happened even when mid files came from GH80s

see - https://www.fretsonfire.org/cgi-bin....=lyrics

I had towatch youtube videos of the songs in GH, and manually change the BPM over and over to get BPMs just right.

the problem with manually changing the BPM on a GH track (at least it was the problem, don't know if it still happens or if it applies to the GH3 tracks - haven't tried them yet) is that when you change the BPM, you lose all alternate tracks, such as bass and rhythm. so you need to be careful with that.

Yes, it'd have to be done outside of FOF. With Anvil or something similair

Great job to everyone working on this! Wish I could help... So from what I read, the converters CAN get the tracks more or less converted into FoF format, but are still glitchy in some areas?

Wow, I assumed this would take a lot longer O.O

Great job!

Thank you GODZ! I really apreciate all of the work done, and the HOPO system will be fine, for the price that we pay, so we will have to wait or suffer, but seriously, thanks!

YMS wrote:Edit: I was not able to find tempo changes in The Metal in a quick Youtube-check. It appears to be around 110 BPM through all the way (though this too is against my 100 / 125 / 150 BPM only rule. Might count as 100 ;)).

I'm at work atm so can't add much, but "One" is probably a good target for checking tempo and time signature changes.

In the intro it runs 4/4 x7 then 2/4 x1. Once if moves into the verse rhythm it shifts to 3/4. It shifts around later in the track too.

I'm 99% certain that this song speeds up as it goes into the second section (leading up to "Landmine! Has taken my sight..." etc).

As for tempo changes in other tracks: it makes no sense that they're a static tempo. From my experience with GH2 the tracks always have a certain amount of variance in the timing (ie: musicians can't keep perfect time all the time ;) ) and so each bar would vary by sometimes less than 1 bpm, but there were variances. With the number of master tracks in GH3 I can't believe for a second that every track is perfectly timed, so the tempo must be somewhere...

Perhaps it's been embedded in the audio file?

Glad to see all the progress. I thought it would take a bit longer than this.

Thanks to all those who are working on it.

i'm not sure if someone already said it but look at number of the beast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e39D8VBQ4sw

at about 1:04 in the video, you can see dramatic bpm changes, i've seen little ones but this one IS noticeable by far, haha

Okay, I'll take that as a point ;).

Sadly it doesn't change the fact that we don't know where these tempo information are (it doesn't matter too much how many they are, if it's just one or a thousand per song, if we find one we'll get all, I guess). There's plenty of data in the .mid.qb file left that we don't know nothing about it.
I'm sure it will soon turn up.

First off great job on the conversions so far, they are alot fun to play.

One thing missing from the conversions is the HOPO from long notes like at 2:08 in Kool Thing.
There probably needs to be a mod to support this in FOF but I just wanted to make sure you guys are aware of that change from GH2.

They know, it's been brought up, but thanks for telling us in the off chance that someone did't, which they did, about 3 times, but glad that you are liking the songs as much as the rest of us rock god worshiping fans!

Cool, Thanks for answering my question. I just didn't see much discussion on it with all the tempo and HOPO placement stuff.

Damn, looks like you guys got far. i've been watching the thread the past few days, but im not up to this type of "Computer Lingo" yet.

What im getting out of this is that you guys were able to convert the songs, but the Hammer-ons and Pull-offs are all retarded still :p

Where can I download playable versions of the songs, even fi they are retarded, I can alsways delete them later and would like to help test stuff out if possible.

Im not up to date with coding or anything like that, so im not going to be a big help there unless someone carrys me through it...in which case they should be doing it. But any help you guys need that i won't suck at, ill try to help. :)

P.S.- Someone has posted "Guitar Hero 3 songs for Frets on Fire" on the Pirate Bay...search Frets on Fire there...
