Intrument Clarification

I see it time and time again in people's threads with nothing describing which instruments are in their songs. I will assume guitar is a given, but some will not say anything and have everything and some won't. Is it so hard to post what is in it?

It's not hard, but people are lazy. If they don't post it a thread that indicates it has a certain instrument (like a drum chart thread), you should probably only assume it has Guitar. Opening the MIDI in an editor or EOF to find out what's in it is pretty easy, but you'd have to download the chart.

Well if I download the file, then it's pointless and a waste of time. There are prolly over 50 songs I would DL if I knew it had drums in it. Granted I have fast internet, but I'm not gonna trouble myself with Dling it and extracting and pasting to another folder. I will just have to deal with it, like with all things in life.

Thanks, but I already tried those threads, lol. I usually search every couple days for new listings, but since there are a lot of threads it's hard to keep track. I guess it would be best if someone painstakingly went through everyone's threads, DLed their songs, tested them for instruments, and posted the results in the Wiki. I sometimes don't DL songs, cuz I like something tricky, but not LOADED with bass, which is usually hard.

I don't think anybody would be willing to download and check all the charts posted here. It would be a much better idea for the mods to send a mass PM asking each user to edit their threads in Tune Posting with the instruments contained in the charts. Even then, I doubt most people would even do it.

I will waste my very invaluable time to do this for the FoFix community, lol. Ya the mass PM would be the most effective and less time consuming if the song creators would be willing to do that.
