frets on fire with the 360 GH controller is awesome. I'v got a feeling frets on fire is going to explode after a bunch of 360 owners get word of this.

I had most of the problems described above. Keys not recognized, sticky / lagging strum bar...This article solved all my problems:

http://www.althack.com/2007....troller

My setup:
- HP Pavilion Laptop
- FretsOnFire1.1.324 (googled it) + RF mod + "New Notes and Keys" mod + "All in one" mod's "Flame 1" background set to static (GH2 practice room). I disabled "Flame 2" via RF mod settings. - Sony PS2 GH2 Gibson SG controller
- Red Octane USB adapter + driver from the website (see post 7 on page 1)
- Running JoyKey (see post 1 to download).

The article makes a few important points:
1. You need to extract the author's JoyKey configuration into your JoyKey folder.

2. Have JoyKey running the author's config (FretsonFire-Althack.com) before you open FoF.

It worked like a champ. No laggy fret bar and the menu navigation works just like GH2 (up on strum bar=up, down=down).

I had set the controls using a borrowed XBox360 controller and it was hopelessly messed up when I tried to configure my PS2 controller. I just pasted the original key.dae and key.pyd files and started over with a clean slate.

Hope this helps.

I got the Radio Shack adaptor, and it worked great. I just plugged it in, didn't even insert the driver disk, and the only setup I had to do was keymapping in frets on fire. It's also only about half the price of the RedOctane one.

I bought the "Speed Link SL-6502 PSX2 Gamepad Converter " and use it with a wireless GH Guitar (That white baby from Red Octane). The Adapter costs EUR 12,45 (~ 16.80 $) (But the bill says EUR 6,80 ... cool :D )

It works perfectly, even without Joy2Key.
I plugged it in, installed the drivers from the CD, startet FoF and set the Keys to the Guitar.

Thats the Adapter: http://www.amazon.de/Speed-L....&sr=8-1

I just got FoF and have been trying to download the new drivers. When I insert the USB for the X-Plorer, I don't get the message for the drivers to install automatically.

Also, I followed what was stated earlier and typed in "Xbox 360 Controller Drivers" with Google to get to the MSoft page. I get the page, click to download, but when I get the prompt and click "Run", it pops up and says: "Update/update.exe does not run on Win32" or something like that.

I have no idea about what any of that means. Any chance anyone can help?

Ok heres my problem; I recently purchased this controller- http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802587 and my friend gave me the idea of using it like the 360 controller. I plugged it in but the computer did not recognize it. We've tried a lot of programs but nothing works... Any ideas?

Thanks,
adam.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it does come with a USB cord to plug-in and charge the controller at the same time. This is the cable I used to connect to my computer when I attempted to play.
