results of a down server - how many people lost?

well after that long 2 day server outage, how many people do u think are gone for good? basically they think that the site will never be back up and just gave up. we surely had to of lost somone

probably not too much people. most may have gone through a form of shock but are recovering once they found out the servers were back.

Most went to other FoF forums and posted topics about "fretsonfire.org IS GONE OMQWTFBBQ!?!?!"

I see the same people I've always have on here so I'd say not many, I voted 0. Besides there are new people signing up everyday, I don't think the outage hurt the forums much if anything at all.

Another good thread would be: How did you react when you noticed the forums were down?
Personally, I tried going to the site about 20 times before realizing it was hopeless... then I shouted "WHYYYYY?!" and banged my head on my desk for so long that I got a real bad headache.

I think 30% are gone, none of those who post regularly, but probably a lot of lurkers

I would imagine that many didn't even notice. I check in daily, but I know a lot are here only occasionally.

It would be nice if this site established a channel on IRC so that the diehards could find out what is going on if there is another outtage. Just change the IRC channels topic to "Server being upgraded" would provide immediate comfort for those addidcted to FoF.net .. Just a thought... Only takes a minute to set up. KeyboardsonFire has one btw.

When I tried using the link from the main FOF download site, I got a report of "upgrades probably back up by sunday night", or something of the like. When I tried clicking after that, I keep seeing a page reading "It Works!."

But I'd say anyone into FOF at all will look back sooner or later. This forum has the best goodies, after all is said and done. And the "Peeps" know it.
