Easy Guitar Controller for Frets on Fire

Postby SonicXxRock » Sun Dec 28, 2008 11:20 pm

I tried this out and it actually works!

All you need is the guitar that comes with Rock Band 2 for the Wii. Just take the dongle and plug it into you USB drive and it installs itself as a Plug-and-Play guitar! You don't need PPJoy, it's installed as a Game Controller, then go to Control Panel > Game Controllers, if "Harmonix Guitar Controller for Nintendo Wii" is listed, double click and make sure the controls are working, and there you have it! Go ahead and map the Joy Buttons and Rock on! :2thumbsup:

See how much easier that is than using Glove Pie and Blue-Tooth and all that work just for a GH3 guitar?

alot of the official/non offical controllers are automatically found in windows... the reason so many people cant figure theirs out is because they either cant read... or have a guitar that ISNT automatically supported

 I think the reason why people like me worked to get the GH3 guitar working was because RB Guitars suck massively.

it is pretty obviuos...

1. Plug in guitar
2. Thing pops up saying "Oh look I found new hardware"
3. Thing installs new hardware
4. You scream out of joy
5. You go play fof with rb guitar
6. You start to cry because the strum bar sucks major ass
7. You remember that anthman852 made a glovepie script to fix the strumbar problems so you go find his thread
8. You follow the instructions in his thread
9. Now your rb guitar works perfectly
10. You go praise anthman852 because he is better than you

I don't use glove pie, RB doesn't use the Blue-Tooth signals. GH3 does though. I might look into using the Blue-Tooth stuff...

--EDIT--

Wait, hang on, I'll look at that topic you just mentioned. Just in case.

GlovePIE works for almost any kind of joystick. It defiantly works with the rb guitar.
