High-Quality Frets On Fire Charts Wiki

Postby jrdnxxhero » Sat Dec 06, 2008 4:46 pm

This is how it works. I will preferably have a team of high quality reviewers for this wiki. You will submit a song to them, if it is high quality enough or meets their standards, it will be put in the wiki.

I'm currently entering the winners from "The Best Guitar Frettings Of November" into there.
If you want to be part of the team, tell me and I'll give you the password.

The site Is not fully complete yet, but I'll finish it.

This may or may not be a good idea, it has the potential to create a good deal of hostility. And what is or isn't good (besides considering whether a chart is beat synced, over-charted or even consistent) is subjective. That said, pretty much all of my charts are beat synced and range from decent to excellent.

Yes indeed, put out some rules, point out examples.
What about rating from between 0.0 and 10.0 for a few categories.
Sync - beat sync involved of course, if it's not beat synced I think that a big point cut should be in place.
Note Placement - mainly the height of the notes placed.
Packaging - Anything from proper archive structure, too year in song.ini Label included of course
Other - Section markings, star power placement, custom Ho/Po markings (when that comes, because I think it will come rather soon) deletion of non existing tracks.

Is this a wikidot site we're talking about or do you have some other wiki (mediawiki pherhaps :)).

any song with a 7.0 or higher should make it in

The problem here is that you need good charters to review the charts. If you can't already tell, they're really the only ones who know the difference between actually being good and sucking ass. The actual problem here is that they're busy actually charting.

I suggest as an alternative, that what you do is find members that you accept as quality charters, and add all of their charts PAST A CERTAIN DATE. Obviously, very old charts will blow dicks, in a bad way, no matter who made them, so again, every chart from a fretter made past the date of their lowest (yet over 7.0 or whatever of course) scored chart.

Make sense?

Like for me, all of my charts before Kitarah Hero were pretty awful (including FoF Hero 1 and 2, with 3-4 exceptions (mechanix and necrophobic or whatever)), so every chart I've released in kitarah and past it in date would be added, rather than just judging them all individually and wasting all of that time. Sure, there might be one or two crappy charts somewhere in there, but the time saved is worth it.

well, i could be a judge, but one thing you need is to have judges to not judge their own work.
