@ nefarious. Yeah mame cabinets can suddenly go Very ugly if your not careful. Ours had 4 joysticks a bright orange trackball and one of those pump action shotgun lightguns from ( i think ) house of the dead, it was the big heavy shotgun. we was lucky we contacted our local arcade center and they had a busted arcade box so they let us "borrow" the shotgun holster from that, we just bolted it on the side of the cabinet. With the fof guitars, if you can afford it get proper guitar racks and mount them on the side of the cabinet or failing that make the equivalent, if they are just laying around leaning up against the cabinet they look really out of place.. and one good tip.. whatever colour your cabinet is... consider spraying your guitars the same colour too, the more you can make it all blend in the better.
A couple of nice features we had on ours were.. we got an extra joystick button and mounted it on the side ( near the top of the cabinet) and that was hooked up to the sleep/hibernate button so when we finished we didnt have to actually turn the whole thing off, we could just whack the button up top and put the arcade into sleep mode, and we got really lucky with the speakers, we found some cheap azz speakers that had a plastic orange cone rather than a normal black paper cone.. I.E. they could be backlit, so thats what we did. the light was also hooked up to the sleep button too, so when we woke it up the speakers would glow bright orange then the system would wake up. it just added that nice extra touch to it..
