I'm using the monster in my avatar, an overhauled kid's toy guitar with the brains of a usb keypad.

I wish I had enough creativity and technical knowledge to create my own Frankentar...

Since I don't, I'm currently operating with my keyboard. Whenever I get the chance, I'm gonna head out to pick up a USB-to-PS2 converter. I'm sure it'll hurt my score in some songs, but I think my score will get better in others.

a strumbar massively increases your ability to hit many notes in rapid succession. the bi-directional motion means you can afford to move your fingers about half the speed you use when on keyboard.

I use some old Dell keyboard. The cable to the computer goes right between F4 and F5 though :(

If I buy a guitar controller from http://theantcommandos.com/ does it plugin with usb or will it only plugin to a Playstation 2 controller slot?

anything that actually looks like a guitar is a PS2 accessory. you need an adapter.

I use my SG guitar controller. The PS2 to USB adapter was the best $12 I've ever spent.

I thought those projection keyboards were cool when they came out, but wouldn't it hurt your fingertips tapping a hard surface repeatedly?

lol no you get used to it and besides (ive said in other post) i play guitar 6 hours a day ... i can hardly feel cement. no the hardest part of getting used to is the vlad suface and no wrist rest. plus i had to change my hand placement because i usually hit the space bar with the side of my thunmb and its hard to do that they are preety cool. but for gamers its nothing more then a novalty. :)
