If I use the ps2 guitar with the adapter will it work on guitar hero 3 for the PC?
Thanks in advance.
If I were you I'd just plug it in and see what happens. I mean, it will not 'smoke' or anything. But a quick guess is no.
Also, there is no need to use joy-2-key to get the X-Box guitar to work. Plug it in and it will fire up. Joy-2-key just confuses it. If your guitar is not installing, please ensure you are connected to the internet.
GL!

i just bought the ps2 to usb adapter at radioshack (f****ing finally) and it came with a cd that had a driver on it, and i plugged it in and my ps2 guitar worked absolutly perfectly, not to mention that my emulators now have a perfect ps2 dual shock controller conpatible with every game i got. its such a good find, but be sure it has software included for best results.
Alright so i basically read all the 20 pages on this thread, and tried everything, and still nothing. i have explorer and windows xp sp2. When i plug the guitar in, it recognizes it, pops up saying "Guitar Hero Explorer", then right away it says "Xbox 360 controller", and like 5 secs later another thing pops up saying " a problem occured during hardware installation, ur hardware may not work properly", then i go to device manager and i see under Xbox 360 peripherals: "xbox 360 controller" with an exclamation mark......ive installed the driver that all of you said in previous pages, ive seen the troubleshooting, nothing works...:s

Yes it does, you just need the converter cable. Actually, depending on where you bought it, it might already come with it.
I have the newest controller that comes with GHIII and the drivers are a bit different. Just make sure your computer is connected to the internet when you first plug in the controller, and it should install the drivers automatically.
If not, the driver for xBox 360 controllers is here:
http://download.microsoft.com/downloa....Eng.exe
