Thanks for the extensive information! That was a lot of stuff to digest! :)

So should we expect new midi versions? I'm waiting for a final release of the GH3 midis so I can put my whole FoF folder on a DVD :D

I won't personally be providing midis for FoF due to legal concerns. I'm only interested in charts for GH3. Once the spec is sorted out then someone else is free to write a converter. In fact, whoever did the first release (I wasn't actually watching) should have enough info to produce updated ones, although the sustain length issue will probably bite them too.

I shoudln't think sustain and scores calculated on the basis of sustain is going to be a big issue, playable accurate FoF charts/midis with accurately placed HOPO notes seems quite enough.

Once again, thanks for the information!

Has anyone figured out the 360 stuff? There are 6 new songs available over DLC on 360 and I have them. So, if someone knows how to rip them...

Funnily enough I was going to take a look at the 360 stuff tonight. Can't promise anything though...

Can somebody extract the full Slash Battle, and convert it to an mp3 file?

I really like the song and want it on my mp3 player.

(as for GH3, i'm stuck on Raining Blood on expert)

If you have the GH songs for Frets then just merge the .ogg files in an audio editor and save out as mp3

i think they are out, just not sure where. My bro was playing "Pretender- Foo Fighters" last night, and it looked like the GH rip ( i saw a video of the GH song and it matches )

I have downloaded all of them, and I have also extracted the VR and FF packs from the Xbox 360 HDD, but I haven't had a chance to look at them. I've been pretty busy with other things lately. Is anyone else looking at this stuff?

tma-I tried to use your perl unpaker, but I get the "Invalid Magic Number found" error.
Was your script designed for the PS2 files? Because I'm using the PC files, they all end in .pak.xen and I tried putting them through your script both with and without the .xen extension.
Thanks.
