i dont know if it has anything to with what you guys are talking about... but you do get midi type 1 and midi type 0 , i think the midi files we normally see floating about the net are type 1 , a lot of musical keyboards (esp yamaha) that use midi generally use midi type 0. and if its any help CAKEW...

The screw up sounds are exactly what they say , the sound the game makes when you make a mistake ( screw up ) the setting is just how loud or quiet do you want that sound to be.

its also been seen a few times if you have the settings on REALLY low it causes more problems than having it on a medium setting, try turning the SVG settings to normal , that seems to sort out some slowness issues.
