I always thought the standard SP marking required the SP marking to go just beyond the head of the note, because that's what the FeedBack tutorial on ScoreHero says.

The thread was posted on April 15, 2008, before EOF really picked up steam. That said, some people still prefer FeedBack, but I personally think EOF is easier to use.

Or better yet, have a mode ("party mode?") that automatically changes difficulty based on how you're doing. You choose what difficulty you start at, but if you don't keep up, the game automatically bumps you down a difficulty level. On the other hand, if you do well, the game pushes you up...

Small bug: If a SP marking ends on a note with 0 length, the last note doesn't get SP in-game. My guess is this is because the SP marking in the MIDI is supposed to go just beyond the "head" of the last note, whereas your markings go to the end of the tail of the last note. When this note ...

Voted for the plain one (1st one). It's too hard to make out the X on the 3rd one, and I like how it's just 3 colours (white, orangey flame-colour and transparent) on the 1st one so I didn't vote for #4.
