Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

That is a great idea. Personally, instead of having it shatter and fly, as if it was hit by an explosive, I'd like to see it crack/spider out, then shatter down. I agree with this. Although for some reason, this says "failure" to me whereas exploding outwards says "success". I s...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

Yeah, the background flame color is getting more and more flexible as the theme evolves. Using it for the rock meter is an interesting idea...but wouldn't going by color alone be a little imprecise though? That's why I used a meter that increases and decreases in size (so you can easily tell exactl...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

Nah, the way they are now is fine. It's very easy to tell them apart from strummed notes, but they don't make it difficult to spot strummed notes amongst a lot of hammer-ons (like in GH3). Having the coloured bit smaller I find portrays the idea of what a hammer-on is very well - they're like half a...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

I'm spotting a pattern here: 1) Community discusses some part of the theme. 2) Leapo ignores most of what the community says and makes an awesome photoshop mockup of that part of the theme. 3) Community really likes Leapo's mockup and ignores everything they discussed in step 1. 4) Repeat with a dif...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

I like how we finally have a neck that goes well with the rest of Leapo's mockups. The SP bars are far too subtle. They also need some graduations on them so you can see how much you really have (or at least the half-way mark like GH2 so you can see when you can activate). Preferably I'd have 8 grad...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

Page 1: For the above ones, the sp/od meter could slide out when you have some power (maybe with an alarm/code red/missile armed -like sound) and remain hidden when empty. So when you activate it, the glass shatters, and remains hidden until you get more fuel. Only when you get more fuel, the fuel m...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

Well I really hate the way GH3 and onwards show HOPOs - it's too hard to pick out the strummed notes among lots of HOPOs. It makes more sense for the strummed notes to "stand out" against lots of HOPOs as they ask for more from the player than HOPOs. I don't think an analog needle for fuel...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

Well I think someone mentioned something along the lines of "psychedelic lava lamp" for fuel, and I think that could work. The fuel in both the fuel meter and in the fuel notes would glow a certain colour. I'm thinking this colour could cycle between a few different colours, cross-fading b...

Re: FoFix v3.120 final version question

You have to create a new controller and give it your desired controls, and set that controller as one of your four set controllers (pick one you don't want to use, highlight it and use left and right to set it to the one you created)

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

Star power and HOPOs need work IMO. HOPOs look too much like GH3; we should be more unique (and IMO GH3's bright-light HOPOs make much less sense than RB's shrunken-down HOPOs - it should be the strummed notes that stand out). Making star-power blue is very GH and star power won't be in our theme (s...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

@The person who posted the orange notes/keys (not Prakt; you ninja'd me): I like them a lot. They're nice and clean and therefore go well with Leapo's menus. And I don't think I've ever seen semi-transparency in notes before, and I think this also works well with what we've got going in Leapo's menu...

Re: New FOF Project (6/9)

And I can't help but think that a lot more people are familiar with C++ than Python.. So I think it'd end up leading to more people working on more indepth mods and extra features that could be added on, which sounds great to me Maybe there are more people who already know C++, but it's much easier...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

The thing is, "fuel" is a good name for the stuff in the meter, but you can't "activate fuel" in the same way that you activate SP or OD. IIRC one of the more popular names from that other thread was "Ignition" - as in, you "ignite" the "fuel" in the...

Re: [WIP] FoFiX Theme for 4.0.0 - by the community

Okay that is quite similar, but there are a few differences (mainly where the icons go, and showing what difficulties each part has with the sliced icons which obviously isn't an issue in RB). Instead of dividing the screen into 4 columns we can make a 2x2 grid (as we don't need so much height) and ...

(Legal) Song Downloading/Uploading program

So here's my take on the age-old request of the in-game system for downloading and uploading songs. The difference is that it's completely legal so it can't be shut down (...I hope). It could be either an external program or built into FoFiX. When you upload a song, you upload only the notes.mid and...
