Re: FoFiX 4.0.0 Development Thread

Hello member weirdpeople. It is good to see someone creating a common new common cross version "core" named fretwork. I believe that is your goal correct? I would like to help you, but have no programming skills and don't know how to use github. I have a 2 yr. degree in computer use and a...

Re: FoFiX 4.0.0 Development Thread

Ok everything is all setup now. Go download and install the newest fretwork release: https://github.com/fofix/fretwork/releases/ pip install --upgrade fretwork-0.2.0-cp27-none-win32.whl You will also want to make sure that you have the latest version of fof-reborn, so either pull the lastest changes...

Re: FoFiX 4.0.0 Development Thread

Sorry about that, i'm in the process of moving more stuff into fretwork, and haven't released a new version yet. Ill try to get that done sometime today. There is a couple of issues i need to fix as well. Fretwork doesnt have the dlls it needs to run properly on windows in some cases, and i dont hav...

Re: Rock Band 4 vs Guitar Hero Live

I own both games, it took me about 5 hours of play on GH:L to get used to the button layout. GH:L is certainly interesting. RB4 also has a lot of issues right now which will get sorted out over time.

Basically i'd say at launch GH:L is the better game, long term i think RB4 will overtake them.

Re: FoFiX 3.121 Bugs or issues you'd like fixed?

The fix is a 1 line typo fix:

self.outstream.sysex_event(data) -> self.outstream.system_exclusive(data)

-- Edit: Wed Oct 21, 2015 4:08 pm --

If you look at the log here it clearly points directly to this issue..

Re: FoFiX 3.121 Bugs or issues you'd like fixed?

So i got around to fixing what i think was root the cause for the sysex events crash. commit here: https://github.com/fofix/fofix/commit/ebf243292fe57862459693b932683182a59a9b88 Now i haven't yet applied this fix to the 3.x branch, because I have a plan that will make that basically make doing that ...

Re: FoFiX 4.0.0 Development Thread

So i think it is about time to post some(hopefully) interesting information about some recent major changes, the project is undergoing. I have been slowly working to separate the "engine" components of FoFiX out into a library I have named fretwork. This should allow me to share it across ...

Re: Harmonix Clues in Rock Band 4

I'm thinking about buying a ps4 and the full band bundle this weekend. I'm also interested to try to get the instruments working on FoFiX (they are bluetooth now on ps4).

Re: FoFiX 4.0.0 Development Thread

I still use FoFiX 3.121 and 4.0. Theyre great. Need both because certain songs only work with one or the other version, but theyre still great. Phase shift pisses me off for its lack of linux compatability. I would be happy to help out a real team debug 4.0 if theres a group interested. Ive written...

Re: FoFiX 3.121 Bugs or issues you'd like fixed?

Thanks, so I might have to look deeper into the crashing issues, because the previous patch was more a work around not a full fix. So do you have any midi files with sysex events in them i can test, or know of where i can get some?

Re: FoFiX 3.121 Bugs or issues you'd like fixed?

Yeah I applied that patch 3 years ago to master, it was also one of the first things i applied to the 3.x branch.

edit:
Also i never quite looked into this, are Sysex Events actually ever used for anything that EOF, or phase shift supports?

FoFiX 3.121 Bugs or issues you'd like fixed?

We are planning to release a FoFiX 3.122 bugfix release. So i know there are some issues out there regarding phase shift compatibility, and possibly some other bugs. So if you know of any bugs, issues, or incompatibilities please post them in this thread, and maybe we can fix them for a future 3.122...

Re: C3's question thread

Just something to put out there. I'm 95% sure that they use an older style song encryption, not the current methods used on new rockband DLC. So if someone really wanted the unecrypted mogg it wouldn't be impossible. Plus most of c3's stuff is written in C# and thats pretty easy to decompile...

Re: FoFiX 4.0.0 Development Thread

Refactoring is a necessary burden, and the longer it's put off the worse it gets. Hopefully FoFiX can be revived someday. Even a new binary release would drum up some interest. Very true, quite a bit would be required to do that right now. I would need to get back in contact with blazinggamer, and ...
