Thanks for the help, got it working. Turns out it WAS the firewall. Since I reinstalled the game several times, apparently it didn't like the fact I was adding, deleting and moving around the FretsOnFire.exe file and started blocking it again. Simply deleteing and re-adding the rule to the firewall ...

The only security I'm using is ESET Smart Security (firewall, antivirus, antispyware and antispam suite) and I set it up to not block FoF whatsoever. I even disabled all the security crap that comes with Vista. :p

Is anyone else having trouble with Vista and FoF? It worked fine on XP...

Nope, I did a fresh install of Frets On Fire and copied RF Mod right over it. I didn't touch library.zip.

I recently upgraded to Vista and I'm trying to get the functional FoF I had back with XP and all is well except when I try to Play Game or do the Tutorial, the game freezes. I can open the task manager and exit the game and the music is still playing, but the game is quite frozen otherwise. I'm runn...

Real guitar, of course. Not that I've ever actually played one. Though I do hear from people that do the FoF (or Guitar Hero) notecharts tend to ham it up a bit. Some songs aren't nearly as difficult to play as the game would make you think. That's assuming you have at least a basic understanding of...

I was afraid of that. Out of curiousity, does Frets On Fire use the same note distance to calculate HO/PO's as Guitar Hero? Since the .chart I converted was from ScoreHero, it was originally intended for Guitar Hero anyways. If FoF works the same then I guess it doesn't bother me that much. It would...

Not sure of the difference. Whatever one I've been using in FoF...

EDIT: It just dawned on me what you meant. GH2 style HO/PO's, not real ones.

I have two questions for you guys. I don't know if this is the right place to ask but its the help center so it seemed appropriate as I need help. a) I converted a song chart (.chart file) I downloaded from ScoreHero and it has no HO/PO's whatsoever. Whether or not they purposely weren't added for d...

That is normally what the link to an IRC channel would look like. For some reason I can't connect with it though, if anyone wants to correct it.

It doesn't work out of the box, at least it didn't for me. You'll need something like Joy2Key (a program that maps the keys on the guitar to the keys on the keyboard).

Sorry, I stopped reading after the third page or so, so I apologize if I'm trailing off the current topic. You guys say the game is a RAM whore? I got 2 gigs of RAM, but I only have a ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB (a mid to low range card by todays standards). Would the game run well on my PC? I plan to p...

I noticed ever since I installed RF-Mod, my scores aren't really uploading to the World Charts site anymore. I can't remember exactly what the default settings were or what I've changed, but I am guessing I set something the game would consider a cheat thats preventing my scores from uploading. I'm ...
